Live Humane! A new project... Print E-mail

volunteers stacking rocksThe ‘Live Humane’ Project kicked off on April 5th with a lot of heavy lifting. Twelve members of the Animal Lifeline Club of Delaware Valley College traveled two hours from their homes in Doylestown, Pa. in order to help the Baltimore Humane Society accomplish a simple goal.

Using very heavy white quartz rocks from Nicodemus Memorial Park, the determined group spelled out ‘LIVE HUMANE’ on the front area of the Humane Society's grounds. The letters can be seen from the sky, measuring about 20 feet by 14 feet each. The team work hard for seven long hours, but the smile of accomplishment on everyone’s faces proved that the sweat equity had paid off.

This is the first of many projects and Baltimore Humane Society is eager to adorn its grounds with more natural, positive messages. We will continue to build this project as we continue to improve our grounds.

Special thanks to the members of the Animal Lifeline Club: (We could not have done it without you!)
