Pre-Surgical Instructions Print E-mail

Please read the following instructions carefully.

Click here for a downloadable checklist for the day of surgery and directions to our clinic.

Check In: Arrive with your pet on its scheduled appointment date between 8:00 and 8:30am. Due to our surgical volumes, patients arriving after 8:30am will be charged a $10 late fee. After 8:45am, you may be required to reschedule, pay a $10 rescheduling fee, and pay in full in advance. Please note that check-in may take between 15 - 30 minutes.

Discharge: All pets are discharged at 3pm the same day. A late fee will be charged after 3:30pm, and after 4pm your pet will be boarded overnight for an additional charge.

Food and Water: Please keep your pets indoors and carefully supervised the night before surgery. Your pet should not have nor be able to access food beginning at 8pm before surgery. Your pet may have water.

Restraint:

Cats: Each cat must arrive in a separate, clean, secure carrier that is large enough to stand and turn around in. Place a clean towel in the carrier to keep the cat warm and dry. Please write the cat's name and your name (example: 'Fluffy, Smith') on the front of the carrier.

Please do not remove your cat from its carrier upon arrival in our reception area. Cats entering a new environment can and often do react unexpectedly.

We strongly recommend, but do not require, that your cat wear an elastic or breakaway collar with an identification tag that includes your name, address and phone number. Please remove any flea collars.

Dogs: All dogs must be wearing a collar and leash. Please, no retractable leashes or prong collars.
