Will my pet get take-home pain medications? Print E-mail
We use a three-pronged approach to pain medications.  All pets get a narcotic injection and an anti-inflammatory that lasts between 24 and 48 hrs;  additionally,  most get a "local" anesthetic block at their incision site.  It is rare that pets need more than this, and there are risks of side effects with all medications.  If you would like additional pain medication, we can discuss this specifically in regards to your pet's needs.
