Can I complete community service hours at the Humane Society? Print E-mail

We do accept community service volunteers. Hours for civic organizations, fraternities, schools and court appointed assignments can be completed at the discretion of the Volunteer Manager. Appropriate documentation can be provided as needed.

Court-ordered community service volunteers must meet the following requirements:

You must be 18 years of age or older.

Your charge must be a misdemeanor offence or “PBJ” (no community service hours will be granted to volunteers with prior felony convictions)

You must be able to provide documentation that the charges meet our guidelines.

All community service volunteers will be requested to work outside cleaning our cemetery or other areas of the grounds as deemed appropriate and must be able to work in a self-directed environment.

The Volunteer Manager can provide documentation of your service only if you sign-in each time you volunteer.

You must be able to complete your hours during business hours or when the appropriate staff member is available on the weekends.
