Want to go for a hike with your dog? Or maybe you want to walk one of ours? Either way, join us during the extra daylight hours each Thursday for our Thursday Night Hikes! Staff will be on hand to walk with you, give you a tour of the Humane Society’s grounds and discuss the organization’s role in our community. Best of all, you can bring your dog or walk one of ours! Either way, it’s a great chance to get out with man’s best friend and support a tremendous organization.
Hikes take place every Thursday (weather permitting, for updates)
Some More Details
When?... Each Thursday (weather permitting), beginning at 6:00pm (please arrive by 5:45pm). Where?... Meet at the main Animal Center at the Humane Society. Why?... To exercise some dogs! How Far?... Each hike will vary, but should be around 1.5 miles. We will be hiking in open fields and through the woods please dress appropriately.
Even though we're keeping this real simple, a few points are in order.
- All hikes are supervised by a Humane Society representative. Sorry, no hiking unless we're with you.
- If you're walking your own dog, no retractable leashes.
- Please let us know that you are coming and whether or not you would like to walk one of our wonderful dogs!

- If you want to walk one of our shelter dogs, no need to bring a donation (unless you absolutely want to!).
