Thank you for taking a moment to review our wish list.  Like most non-profits, we thrive on generous support from kind individuals.  At the Humane Society, we make every effort to ensure the comfort of each and every pet that comes to us.  It's part of our promise to care for, protect and place each pet within our organization. Our staff provides regular meals, clean bedding, a bit of exercise and education and, of course, many kind words. Animals are, after all, the core of what it means to be a Humane Society.

The generosity of donors and volunteers provides the extra amenities that take a good Humane Society and make it great.  Thank you for your support.

For The Cats

Let's face it, cats are great. We worship them and they know it.  In fact, we treat them so well at the Humane Society that they must view us as servants.  That's ok, they can live in their dream world while we try to find them good homes.  In the meantime, we could use:

  • Tray-Style Cardboard Boxes (the kind used under soda and beer cans – we use these for litter boxes)
  • Newspaper
  • Plain Clay Cat Litter (non-clumping)
  • Cat toys (especially toy mice)
  • Cardboard scratching pads
  • Bedding
  • Blankets,Towels and Small Rugs (Fleece material is the best!)
  • Science Diet Food -Adult Turkey Gourmet Canned Food and Kitten Chicken & Liver Canned Food
  • Wet Canned Cat Food any flavor (Fancy Feast, Friskies, Iams)
  • Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR) Formula
  • Digital thermometers (V911F/V921F Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer available at your local pharmacy)
  • Snuggle safe warming discs
  • Plastic Litter Pans- size large
  • Pill Pockets (both dogs and cats)
  • Flea Products (Frontline, Advantage and Capstar)
  • Nebulizer System
  • Humdifier and/or Vaporizer

To keep diets consistent we only feed Science Diet. All other food donations is welcome and will be dispersed to other shelters and rescue groups.

For the Dogs

There's nothing quite like the warmth of a cold nose, right? How about when that cold nose is attached to a big furry body that is hogging your bed? Yeah, that's something else entirely. But hey, it's all about keeping them happy, right?  Our dogs could use:

  • Rawhide Bones, Nylabones, Denta Bones, and Busy Bones
  • Stuffed Animal Dog Toys (please do not give toys that have batteries or bean stuffing)
  • Kongs (Large and Extra large)
  • Kong Stuffings: cream cheese, peanut butter, and canned pumpkin
  • Jolly Balls, Amaze-A-Balls, and Buster Cubes
  • Busy Buddy Toys
  • Tire Biter Paw Tracks Toys
  • Sterilized Marrow Bones
  • Easy Walk Harnesses (all sizes-primarily medium)
  • Kuranda Dog Beds (visit www.kuranda.com to donate a bed)
  • Science Diet Food - Adult Gourmet Beef Entree Canned Food
  • Flea Products (Frontline, Advantage and Capstar)
  • Rice Cooker/Steamer (and bags of white rice)

To keep diets consistent we only feed Science Diet. All other food donations is welcome and will be dispersed to other shelters and rescue groups.

For the Rabbits & Guineas

You didn't think we were just about dogs and cats, did you? Nope. We have the occasional rabbit and guinea pig... and sometimes a rat or two. Maybe it's odd, but these little guys need a warm home just like their canine and feline counterparts. In fact, during their stay here the need:

  • Guinea Pig and Rabbit Pellets (no seeds)
  • Timothy Hay
  • Organic lettuce, kale, carrots

Our small and furry friends are more sensitive than you might think. Good organic food goes a long way for them... if you don't know what to look for, just go to the healthiest section in the grocery store. We should probably all be shopping here, anyway.
