BMORE HUMANE currently has twice as many adult female cats as we do males, and these empowered ladies are ready to find their forever homes! So, we're pitching in to help our female feline friends (try saying that 5 times fast) by reducing their adoption fee. Of course, like the caring ladies that they are, they're asking for potential adopters to bring in a few items from their wish list in order to help their other feline friends out at Baltimore Humane Society.
I am the proud owner of a 4 year old Pit Bull mix named Sierra. My boyfriend Wes and I adopted Sierra in August of 2009 from the Baltimore Humane Society. If someone would have asked me a year ago if I wanted a Pit Bull I would have definitely said no. With the name Pit Bull comes all the stereotypes such as: vicious, aggressive and, of course, dog fighters. I, like many others, believed all these stereotypes to be true of every dog associated with the name Pit Bull.
Baltimore Humane Society is pleased to announce a 5K challenge slated for the spring of 2010 dubbed "Sgt. Stubby's Fierce 5K" in honor of Sgt. Stubby himself, a stray mutt turned WWII hero. Held on the grounds of the Baltimore Humane Society, runners will be treated to a challenging off road course that includes rolling hills, cross country and single track that is sure to sap the legs of even the most seasoned runner. Mark your calendars and prepare for a 5K challenge!
